With the GTA04 Group Tour we try to overcome the vicious circle that an attractively low price for the GTA04 needs bulk purchases in production and demand for high number of units comes only if there is an attractively low price. The traditional approach is Venture Capital - someone pays the first big batch - but our community and project is not in a situation to get VC. Therefore, we offer a pre-order reservation scheme for the GTA04 like a group tour. You can reserve your seat(s) and if we reach the minimum quantity of participants by the end of the subscription timeframe (or earlier), the group tour will start. If not, it will be cancelled and you get a refund of your payment (the total value in EUR - please note that due to money transfer fees and currency exchange rate fluctuations, it may be less than what you really have paid). To give an advantage to those who subscribe early, not being able to predict if the group tour starts, there is an "Early Bird" rebate. First 50 Early Birds: sorry, no longer available. • Subscription timeframe: 14th Nov 2011 - 10th Feb 2012 31th March 2012
• Minimum number of subscriptions: 350 units
• Production and shipment is planned to start April May 2012
• If the group tour does not reach enough pre-orders you get back your upfront payment (less money transfer fees and potentially exchange rate fluctuations)

How can I improve the probability that the Group Tour starts?

• Become a local distributor or convince friends to participate as well (orders for 5 units or more will have an additional rebate).
• Describe the benefits of a GTA04: open, well documented hardware, helpful community, something special, can be modified, independent, UMTS 3.75G
• Talk about the GTA04 in favourite blogs, forums, twitters, facebooks, mailing lists, IRC channels, conferences.
• Add an img link to the Filling Level image (http://www.handheld-linux.com/gta04-level.php) and/or link this page from home pages, blogs, project pages, wikis etc.
• Help to provide complete devices: either build your homebrewn case or buy used/defective GTA01/GTA02 units e.g. at eBay and combine them.
